This page explains which personal data I process when you visit luxzenburg.org, and what I do with it. I’ll keep it short and concrete.
Who is responsible
This website belongs to me, Erik van Luxzenburg. I am the controller of your personal data. You can reach me at info@luxzenburg.org.
What data I process and why
Email to me. If you send me a message, I use your details only to reply.
Technical data. The server records your IP address and the pages you visit in log files. I do this to keep the site secure and to track down errors, based on legitimate interest. I keep these logs for no more than 14 days.
Statistics. I measure visits with Plausible, which I host myself on the same server as this site. Plausible uses no cookies, does not store IP addresses and shares no data with third parties. I only see aggregate figures, such as which pages are read.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. There is no login, no account, no tracking and no advertising.
The only thing the site keeps in your browser is your choice of a light or dark display, and only if you press the button at the top yourself. That choice stays on your own device (in your browser’s local storage); I never see it. Clear your browser data and it is gone.
Embedded content from other sites
Sometimes a post contains a video or image from another site, such as YouTube. Those sites may set their own cookies or track your behaviour, just as if you visited them directly. I try to embed as little as possible.
Who I share data with
I don’t sell your data and I don’t use it for advertising. I do use Yourhosting in the Netherlands for the server this site runs on. Beyond that, I only share data when the law requires me to.
How I protect your data
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), I keep the software and server up to date, and only I have administrator access.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask me for:
- access to the data I hold about you;
- correction of inaccurate data;
- erasure of your data;
- restriction of processing;
- a copy of your data in a common format (data portability);
- to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
Email me at info@luxzenburg.org. I will respond within one month.
If you disagree with how I handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or with the supervisory authority in your own EU country. I’d rather hear from you first, though.
Data breaches
If a data breach puts your data at risk, I will report it to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens within 72 hours where required, and inform you if the risk to you is high.
Automated decision-making
I do not make decisions about you based on automated processing or profiling.
Changes
If I change this policy, you’ll see it in the date at the top.
